Choir and Bells has begun

Our Classic Choir and Handbell Choir began rehearses on Thursdays, with Handbell Choir rehearsing from 6:30 – 7:15 pm and Classic Choir rehearsing from 7:30 – 9:00 pm. The Classic and Handbell choirs provide music to enhance the classic worship service at 8:00 am approximately once a month. The Classic Choir is open to adults and youth grades 9 and up; the Handbell choir is open to adults and youth with some musical instruction grades 7 and up. Twenty-fifth Advent Cantata Sunday, December 19, 8:00 and 11:00 am

It’s hard to believe that on a cold evening in December of 1986, we had our very first Advent musical. What a joy it was to lift our voices – and our instruments – in praise of the coming infant King! We loved it so much that we have continued the tradition, and now our twenty-fifth Advent Cantata will be held on Sunday, December 19, at the 8:00 and 11:00 services in the Worship Center. We will hopefully be choosing a new cantata for this milestone in the traditions of our church family. In order to help as many people as possible participate in our Cantata choir, we will be having six Saturday rehearsals designed especially to learn the cantata. We will begin on Saturday, September 25, at 10:00 am in Luther Chapel. Check your mailbox for a flyer with all the rehearsal dates. Join our Fusion Worship Team!

Our Fusion team meets every week, so our goal is always to add new members. Eventually, we would like to build two or three teams to involve more of us in music ministry and to avoid burnout for our current team. We currently have no instrumentalists other than keyboard, so if you play guitar, bass guitar, drums, or any other instrument, we would love to have you! With a little advance notice, parts can be written for trumpet, sax, strings, etc. Please come and talk to me! I would love to involve you in our Fusion Team. And if you love to sing, please call as well. You can attend a rehearsal and see if singing with the Fusion team is something you’d enjoy.
