“Power to Proclaim!”
Acts 2: 1 – 21
Understanding the role and work of God the Holy Spirit is often limited to such an extent that the Holy Spirit is seen as a divine supporting cast to God the Father and God the Son. Fifty days after Christ’s resurrection, however, the Holy Spirit arrives in a dramatic and powerful way to fulfill Jesus’ promises and to usher in a new chapter in the kingdom of God. God’s continuing salvation plan now transitions to the Apostles and the emerging family of faith – the church – being led and empowered by the Holy Spirit to be proclaimers of the Good News of salvation. May our Pentecost worship be one of celebration as we continue to embrace the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives as we faithfully partner in proclaiming the Gospel until Christ returns.
