Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS): MOPS provides social and Christian support to mothers of preschool age children (Newborn to Kindergarten). It includes guest speakers, crafts, mission projects, and much more for mothers while their children (MOPPETS) are cared for in a Christian environment. MOPS meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at King of Kings, during the school year (Sept. – May) from 9-11 AM. Building Hope in the City (BHITC): BHITC is a Lutheran organization that seeks to restore urban communities by intentionally sharing Christ and connecting God’s people in service throughout various parts of Ohio. The local BHITC–Cincinnati chapter sponsors various ministry outreach opportunities in several Cincinnati urban communities. Ongoing volunteer opportunities are listed below and include the following programs:
- Kid’s Church
- Urban Family Learning Center (UFLC) Tutoring
- “Heartfelt Tidbits” – Refugee Resettlement Ministry

Thrivent: Thrivent is a Lutheran-based company that offers insurance and investment products to members, plus provides funding and assistance to various community and global social service organizations. This service group organizes and encourages congregational involvement in various Thrivent-sponsored fund-raising and community service events throughout the year, plus handles the distribution of KOK-designated Thrivent funds. The team welcomes project suggestions for future consideration. Suggestions for KOK congregational or Warren County projects should be educational, mission, and/or evangelical in nature. Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML): LWML is an LCMS women’s auxiliary that encourages and equips women of all ages to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions. Activities include: mission-focused projects, Bible study and fellowship, regional/national seminars and conventions, and providing financial support for various missions. Federation & Women’s Auxiliary: The Cincinnati Federation of Lutheran Churches and the associated Women’s Auxiliary are local LCMS mission organizations that provide assistance and financial aid to the Federation chaplains and deaconesses serving in the Cincinnati area. Federation ministries include: hospital and institutional ministries, college campus ministries, The Bridge Ministry, and Parish Nurse Program. The Federation sponsors a yearly Reformation service. The Women’s Auxiliary sponsors additional projects throughout the year. Federation news and events are published in the “Cincinnati Lutheran” newspaper.
